Public Works
The Public Works Department is responsible for the maintenance of the County’s 352 miles of paved and 25 miles of unpaved roadways. Other responsibilities include upkeep of road signs, pothole patching, pipe replacement (not driveway pipe), grading and cleaning drainage ditches along County roads. The Public Works Department also clears fallen trees or debris from the roadways and cleans ice and snow from roads, if necessary, during the winter.
The Public Works Department does not install driveways. All driveways that are installed or any encroachments on County rights-of-way must be permitted by the County. Applications and permits for driveways may be obtained below and submitted to the Planning & Development Office, Suite 200, Government Building.
