Notice of Second Public Hearing - PRO Housing Grant Application
NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING -BALDWIN COUNTY PRO HOUSING GRANT APPLICATION
Baldwin County will hold a Public Hearing on Monday, October 14, 2024 at 9:00 a.m. in the Commission Chambers located at 1601 N Columbia Street, Room 220 in Milledgeville. The County is considering applying to the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) for a federal Pathways to Removing Obstacles to Housing (PRO Housing) Grant to primarily benefit low- and moderate-income persons.
The activities for which these funds may be used are to remove barriers to affordable housing and increasing housing production and lower housing costs over the long term. More specific details regarding eligible activities, plans to assist displaced persons (if any), the estimated amount of funds proposed to be used for activities to benefit low-and moderate-income persons, and the rating system will be provided at a public hearing.
The purpose of this hearing will be to obtain citizen input into the development of the application. This notice is to also to inform the public that a draft copy of the PRO housing grant application is available for public review and comment at www.baldwincountyga.com.
Baldwin County also abides by the following laws as they pertain to HUD Assisted Projects: Title VI of the Civil Rights Act of 1964; Section 109 of the HCD Act of 1974, Title 1; Title VII of the Civil Rights Act of 1968 (Fair Housing Act); Section 104(b)(2) of the Housing and Community Development Act of 1974; Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973 as amended; Title II of the Americans with Disabilities Act of 1990 (ADA); and the Architectural Barriers Act of 1968.
